Zuletzt mit dem Rad 2001 via Ryanair und Frankfurt Hahn, R\u00fcckflug 1 Tag vor 9\/11 vom historisch bedeutsamen Shannon Airport. Danach war erstmal alles dicht. So eine Art Gl\u00fcck im Ungl\u00fcck damals. Davor in den 90ern jedes Jahr in Eire, meistens \u00fcber die Rainbow-Route mit dem eigenen PKW (Scotland &#8211; Ulster). <br><br>40 years ago: Erstmals im August 1981 w\u00e4hrend des legend\u00e4ren Hungerstreiks der IRA-Gefangenen in Eire, erst im Norden (Belfast, Derry und Letterkenny), dann Connemara und Dingle Peninsula, jeweils damals schon mit kleinen Radtouren. <br><br>Und nun hat es endlich wieder geklappt nach 3 vergeblichen Versuchen und stornierten Buchungen: Flug von Frankfurt nach Dublin, dann weiter in die Connemara und 1 Woche in Dunquin auf der Dingle Peninsula, quasi eine weitere &#8222;Heimat&#8220; aus den 90ern. Viel hat sich ver\u00e4ndert in den letzten 40 bis 20 Jahren, insb. der zunehmende Tourismus und der Autoverkehr auf den sehr schmalen Stra\u00dfen \u00fcberall.
